the most important document for RACE weekend:

Address & Directions

Fair Hill is a big park
You’ve been warned :)

Race operations and the infield will be located at the 483 Gallaher Rd. Elkton, MD 21921. We will have clear signage beginning at the gravel driveway entrance and a managed drop off area. Parking will be on grass. Look for our volunteers to guide you!

Course Description

Fair Hill Natural Resource Management Area lies just south of the Mason-Dixon line in Elkton, MD. Once owned by the duPont family, this nearly 6000 acre parcel is home to world-class equestrian facilities and rich with history. Old growth forests and scenic pastures dotted with the ruins of historic buildings will make for a beautiful course and venue. Riders will need all their directional change skills for the twisty singletrack portion of the course, and they’ll need to draw on their fitness and grit for the gradual climb up to the finish line.

Pre-Ride

The course will be open for pre-ride Saturday afternoon (2:30 - 5 p.m.) and Sunday morning (8 - 9 a.m.). We strongly recommend that all racers pre-ride the course and bring a map, plenty of water, cell phone and not ride alone. Please pass course workers with great care and stay off the course outside of the above times. ALL riders on course are required to have a MICL Race Plate, including adults.

Adventure Program

The MICL Adventure ride presented by Salsa Cycles is still in the works. Expect an adventure course that is clearly marked and available for student-athletes to use with at least one licensed team coach along with them (or more as required by risk management ratios). More details on adventure will be updated here

GRit Program

The MICL GRiT program presented by Joes Bike Shop will have programming at all MICL events this year. The GRiT area will be a gathering space for all student-athletes and will be particularly welcoming to our new and returning female participants. Learn more about GRiT programming for this event here.

Try It Out Program

The MICL Try It Out program presented by Race Pace Bicycles will be at all pre-rides this year. It will allow new & beginner students to “try it out” with a sweet new bike, riding on our marked course with other students and coaches! Check in at our registration tent to learn how you or a friend can try out mountain biking on one of our courses.
